Hello friends,

Summer approaches as our semester winds down with just a few weeks left. We hope you'll join us at the Acme Spring Concert on Sunday, June 10. Over 60 of our students will be performing!

We've had some great recording projects come through Acme this season. More on that below, plus faculty news and gigs, an interview with an Acme student, and info on summer and fall lessons and classes.

We hope to see you in our studios soon!

Acme's Studio Director Rich Bennett has been involved in a number of excellent projects this spring, including two releases on UK indie/electronica label Happy Robots:

1. The new single "If U Must Dance" by Sinosa was mixed by Rich at Acme. Check out the accompanying mod/80s/Laurie Anderson-inspired video:

2. Rich co-produced the new album by Rodney Cromwell, including the new single "Comrades" which was just released:

Also, Rich is currently recording and producing a new album by Brittany Anjou & Ghanaian xylophone (gyil) master Alfred Kpebsaane at Acme. The album features hypnotic beats, processing, and traditional African instruments. You can catch a live performance of Brittany and Alfred every Saturday in June at BarbèsWatch a clip from their last show.

laguardia vocal audition prep

Acme's vocal audition program returns for 2018. In this 6-week class, students will learn the skills to succeed at auditions for LaGuardia, Murrow, PPAS, Frank Sinatra, and other performing arts high schools in New York City. This popular class at Acme will prepare students for both the required rhythm and melody testing, as well as for singing a cappella in front of judges.
