TERMS & CONDITIONS
IN CONSIDERATION FOR USING ACME HALL STUDIOS’ SERVICES, I AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS & CONDITIONS:
“Private lessons” are scheduled on a semester basis. Students commit to 16 lessons per semester (6 lessons for summer session) and are expected to attend all lesson dates listed in Acme’s calendar, which is available on Acme’s website. Lessons may never take place outside of Acme.
A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a lesson slot for the semester. This deposit will be used toward the total cost of tuition. If lessons are scheduled less than 30 days prior to the start of the semester, full tuition is due upon registration. Cancellations made more than 30 days in advance of the start of the semester will receive a full refund of all tuition paid for the lessons, minus the non-refundable deposit. Cancellations made less than 30 days before the start of the semester will not receive a refund and the full amount paid will be forfeited.
If there is space available, students may schedule lessons after the semester has already begun. The lessons will begin at a date agreed upon by the student and Acme and will continue until the end of that semester. The cost of the lessons will be prorated, based on the number of lessons remaining in the semester. If lessons are scheduled after the semester has begun, full prorated tuition is due upon registration.
Lessons expire at the end of the semester. Unused lessons do not roll over. Unused lessons expire once the semester has concluded.
Should a student need to cancel a particular lesson during the semester, cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Lessons may be cancelled only by contacting the individual instructor directly, via e-mail, and cc’ing email@example.com. There are no refunds for lessons or classes missed due to student absence.
A student who has cancelled a lesson with a least 24 hours notice may elect to schedule one make up lesson in their usual lesson slot during Acme’s Make Up Week. The Make Up Week occurs after all 16 weeks of the semester have concluded and provides an opportunity for students to reschedule one lesson that was missed during the semester. Only one make up per student is offered during the Make Up Week. Due to space constraints and scheduling considerations, instructors are not required to make up lessons at any other time during the semester. A lesson cancelled less than 24 hours in advance cannot be made up. Make up days for each day of the week are listed on our calendar page.
Because of the very short length of summer session, there are no make ups available in summer.
Every effort is made to have instructors present at all scheduled lessons throughout the semester. However, if an instructor must miss a lesson for any reason, either the lesson will be taught by another member of Acme’s faculty or it will be made up as soon as possible by the instructor.
WORKSHOPS & ENSEMBLES
Acme offers various group workshops. Because of the very limited size of these workshops, a registration in a workshop is final. There are no refunds or credits available for a cancellation.
A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a spot in an ensemble. This deposit will be used toward the total cost of tuition. Cancellations made less than 30 days before the start of the ensemble’s first meeting will not receive a refund and the full amount paid will be forfeited.
Acme reserves the right to cancel a workshop or ensemble due to insufficient enrollment. All workshop or ensemble cancellations will be announced prior to the class or ensemble’s first meeting. If a workshop or ensemble is cancelled, all enrolled students will receive a full refund of all tuition paid.
No make ups are offered for ensembles and classes as they involve multiple students.
Acme is not responsible for personal property that is either lost or damaged on our premises.
Unless Acme indicates otherwise, students are responsible for providing their own music books, sheet music, instruments, and materials.
Acme follows NYC Public School policy with regard to weather cancellations. Should public schools close due to inclement weather, our classes will be cancelled as well. Semester extensions due to these cancellations will be advised to you via email.
Our studios contain electrical sound equipment including amps, speakers, and other hardware. Acme will take reasonable precautions to ensure that all equipment is secured and safe. Acme will manage all equipment, and connect and disconnect all appliances during lessons and rehearsals. Students are not to handle any equipment without supervision. Food and beverages are prohibited in our studios.
Your email address and personal information will be used by Acme for its business purposes only and will not be shared with any third parties.
